Tagan Easycon X1 700W
Results
Tagan provides another extremely solid-performing product with an entirely within ATX specification graph, even up to 100 percent load. All four 12V rails, 3.3V and 5V perform fantastically and the PSU certainly does the job it's designed to do.
Not only that, but it's as quiet as the Enermax and Cooler Master as well with that single large 13.5cm fan. In addition to stable power, the PFC remains at over 95 percent throughout and the efficiency only drops slightly below the very good 80 percent mark at full load. It's not quite as good as the Enermax, but it's also a damn sight cheaper as well.
Warranty
Tagan has the same three year warranty as the rest of the units, with the first year returning to point of sale and subsequent years it's sent back to Nanopoint UK.
Conclusion
For £109 Tagan makes an absolute bargain of a PSU considering what you get. It performs fantastically, is modular and quiet and provides a range of cables and a cool looking case to keep them in. The downside is the unintentional removal of the modular connectors on the PSU, it only comes with
two 6-pin PCI-Express connectors. Additionally it may be £20 more expensive than other 700W PSUs, like the OCZ GameXStream or Hiper Type-R, but that's money well spent considering the quality of power shown above.
It may not have some of the features like 8-pin PCI-Express connectors and CoolGuard or PowerGuard but it's also £30 cheaper than the Enermax for almost the same wattage.
